According to two people with knowledge of the situation, the Biden administration is planning to announce the first ten pharmaceuticals that will be up for negotiation under Medicare on Tuesday.

Democrats last year got through Congress the Inflation Reduction Act, which gave the green light to the contentious initiative. However, the pharmaceutical industry and its allies are dead set against this initiative, and have filed at least eight lawsuits in the past few weeks claiming that it violates the Constitution.
